City tour
An ideal way to start one's acquaintance with the
city is to take a 3-hour city tour. The tour invariably ncludes a drive along
Nevsky Prospect. Proceed then to Vasilevsky Island, the Peter and Paul Fortress
and the Hermitage. After a glimpse at the University, proceed along the
Dvortsovaya (Palace) Embankment to the Palace Square. After a stop by the
multi-domed church of the Resurrection of Christ (also known as the Church on
the Spilled Blood), cross the Neva to see the Aurora cruiser. Take a ride along
the Neva to Smolny Cathedral and the Smolny Institute. Return then to the
Admiralty region to look at St. Isaac's Cathedral. Stop by the Bronze Horseman.
There is also an opportunity to visit St. Nicholas' Cathedral.
