Tretyakov Gallery: the museum of the Russian national art, exhibiting beautiful collection
of precious Russian icons, which are believed to be the treasures of the world
art.
Its founder, Pavel Tretyakov, began to collect paintings in 1856. This idea
was to create a museum of Russian national art open to the wide public.
